My name is Mia Wexford. I am an IT security professional based in Australia, specialising in VPN technologies, network defence, and digital privacy solutions. My career is built on a combination of academic preparation and more than fifteen years of applied experience in cybersecurity, with a particular focus on protecting users in an increasingly monitored online environment.

I hold a degree in Information Technology from the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), where my studies concentrated on network architecture and cybersecurity. This education provided a strong theoretical base, while real-world projects and operational roles allowed me to translate that knowledge into practical, scalable security solutions.

My professional journey has covered several key stages, each shaping my expertise from a different angle.From 2008 to 2012, I worked for a large Australian telecommunications provider as a Network Administrator and Security Analyst. In this role, I gained first-hand exposure to ISP-level infrastructure, traffic management, data handling practices, and the operational challenges of securing large-scale networks.

Between 2012 and 2016, I operated as an IT Security Consultant for small and medium-sized businesses in Melbourne. My responsibilities included designing and deploying comprehensive security frameworks, performing penetration testing and vulnerability audits, and educating teams on secure digital practices. This period deepened my understanding of how cybersecurity decisions directly affect business continuity and user trust.

Since 2016, I have been working independently as a Security Consultant and Educator, with a strong emphasis on VPN development and privacy-oriented technologies. My current activities include personalised security consultations, in-depth privacy assessments, educational publishing, and ongoing research into encryption protocols, surveillance techniques, and user-focused protection models. I focus on making advanced security tools understandable and usable for individuals and families, not just technical professionals.
